Could someone explain to me what a "retweet" is? And when people put a '#' and '@' before a name?

Retweet is re-posting something someone else posted. # is a hashtag, and @ has to be in front of someones name that's the users name like @johndoe.

Retweet- copy wut someone else said (i guess cuz you think its funny/cool) @ means at. @eddie how you doing. # - my guess, is like a subject. Hot topics are on the said. Example yesterday was #RIPjustinBieberHaters
