Grow what you like to eat the most and like to have fresh on a daily basis. Also depends upon how much space you have for a garden. Don't grow anything you can buy cheaply at the grocery store, like onions, iceberg lettuce. I used to grow: tomatoes, green beans, zucchini, seedless cucumbers, Romaine lettuce, eggplant, peppers/jalapeno also add some herbs to compliment the veggies: basil, parsley, cilantro, dill
Tomatoes, carrots, peas, strawberries, raspberries, grapes, peppers, but, it mostly depends on where you live. Those are good for places with cooler weather. For warmer places, oranges, tomatoes, hot peppers, melons, cucumbers eggplants, etc.
