what's the farthest place to fly on a plane?

Well, circling the globe at the equator (which has a slight bulge to it) would do the trick. Where you land doesn't matter as long as it's the same place you took off (or maybe 180 degrees from where you took off depending upon how you look at the question).

Nome Ak to Antatctica is a little more than a hop. skip and jump. A stopover in New Zealand for fuel 18 hours in flight, with 7-8 more to go.
