What is a Katana without a tsuba called?

If a Katana is made without a tsuba and looks as if it is one piece with the sheath, what is that sword called.

A shirasaya may be what you're thinking of. That would be a plain wooden Japanese blade mount. A katana is also called a samurai sword. The tsuba is just a sword guard.
