What does '4c' indicates in a 'Alfa Romeo 4c' car

Report as

The name 4c is taken from the racing tradition. The name indicates that it has been inspired by the sports cars of the past years such as the 8C and the 6C. they borrow the carbon fiber, aluminium and rear wheel drive configuration. You can read more about the car on http://www.caranddriver.com/news/alfa-romeo-4c-concept-from-the-geneva-auto-show-news.

so basically what i said '' Powering the 4C is a 1.7-liter, direct-injected turbo four-cylinder (hence the 4C name)''

I'd assume it means "4 cylinder engine," but I probably shouldn't make assumptions. ;-)
