How to repair the accidentally cut fiber optic cables?

Underground fiber optic cables can be accidentally cut. The most typical factor which could cause this accident may be the utilization of backhoe while digging. If it happens to you, can you simply search for backhoe and obtain the cut cables?

You must contact the phone company who owns the cable for repairs...and they will charge you heavily for not locating the lines before you start digging.Fiber optic cables are very expensive and time-consuming to repair.

There is a reason they run those advertisements telling you to call before digging. I am guessing you have just learn it. smh

Sounds like a pipe repair and re-pull to me...I don't think you can just splice fiber optics...but I could be wrong.

If you were the one that cut the cable by accident you had better plan of spending a load of dollars. Fiber optics are not like the wires they used years ago. More than likely you cut a trunk line. You can't just patch a optic trunk line. They usually charge you to pull another cable between the two boxes at each end of the cable that was cut. I cut a regular wire 52 pair line years ago, they told me to plan on $2K. Due to a technicality i didn't have to spend a done!
