Batteries provide you with portable electricity. They have poles. One side of a battery is + and other side is -. When both sides of a battery are somehow connected, they loop the flow of electricity, creating a paradox. My point is, somehow, those batteries looped the flow of electricity creating an overload of electric speed. They could have been resistant if they were rechargeable.

Damn I do know mine get pretty warm when they have been charged. Were they a name brand? Did you charge them a long time?

Did you have something conductive in your pocket that shorted them? Were they lithium ion batteries (some are defective)? If you damage them, the internal insulating material can fail and cause an internal short (which could cause them to burn).

Most likely they shorted out on loose change, a pocket knife, or something like that.
