^True. Personally I go for the screen size along with specs but for the price. Alienware's 14" laptop isn't worth it for me and for the money. Also I think it only has an i5.

PC has more games to choose from but Mac is more reliable. Make sure which ever computer you choose has a lot of MB of RAM

Build your own computer if you care about gaming performance and price. It's an enjoyable learning experience that will save you a good amount of money- especially when it comes to inevitably upgrading your hardware.

Well I have a Dell. It runs pretty good. But which game are you planning to play anyway? I don't even enjoy playing 3-D games on my computer. I mean I downloaded Scarlet Blade, but I still prefer playing Naruto-Arena and it's 2-D. Naruto-Arena's the best online game there is imo. My favourite computer game in high school and still my favourite computer game today.

Microsoft is better for business. Macs are BOSS at gaming and stuff, and simpler to navigate, but they're not very "professional"

I've had a Mac, and they wont let you download most games, and they are way too expensive if you are just using them for gaming, a Mac is good for almost anything except gaming. I would build your own, it is a lot cheaper and sometimes you get better performance than the high-end ones. Stay away from DELL, HP, LG, Toshiba, Samsung, and Macs, and I would not recommend a laptop. If you are too lazy to build one, then go to http://www.digitalstormonline.com/ for a good, somewhat cheap gaming PC.

The Razer Blade is new, and it's Razer's first computer. I would wait for a bit to let them work through all the little bugs first.

If you have the coin, go for the Alienware box.. major power, major speed. And would cost about the same as an Apple, but a lot more computer for the money.

If you want a mobile gaming rig, get Alienware (prefferably the new Alienware 18). While people may be biased towards apple mobile platforms, they both cost more and do less both in terms of RAM and general features. If you want a stationary platform, I would highly recomment doing your reasearch and make your own gaming PC. Trust me, it's not as hard as it sounds

The best gaming computer, or computer in general, is what you need it for. Obviously, you need it for gaming. That said, you're going to need a pretty nice PC/Mac, whichever you prefer.

For a gaming PC it would matter on what kind of games you'd want to play. If you're looking to play Minecraft, any computer will do. If you're looking to run Battlefield 3 at ultra high-def resolution, then you're going to need to go a little more expensive. ...and when I say little, I mean a lot.

Building your own. Building is cheaper and you can make it to any specs you want. I am in the process of building my own and I can say its fun and im excited for what is going to come of it. go to newegg.com for good computer parts if you decide to build

Helpful Fun Thanks for voting Comments (5)
Report as
theres 1 problem to that you have to consider is that if you build a computer of any kind all of the parts have to work together to make the computer work so its not just throwing different parts together if you don't then it becomes a serious problem of course you may not experience that but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen
Report as
I am building my own currently, and finding parts that fit together isnt too hard as long as you look on the box for what it is compatible and not compatible with. most motherboards are well designed space-wise to fit parts and if you get a reasonable-sized tower, most anything can fit.
Report as
maybe but i have heard of it crashing and burning the computer

then you have a friend who is really bad at building computers :P

The easiest thing I can tell you to do is go to Walmart or wherever you buy magazines from and pick up the summer 2013 edition of PC Gamer it has a complete guide to building your own, and with some it even has four different builds depending on how fat your wallet is, it has even done most of the work for you by picking the best parts for each budget, and then shows you how to assemble it and get it ready for gaming. GL to you I hope this helped.

Please don't listen to anyone who says you should buy a dell or acer (as in, prebuilt), a mac (as in, overpriced computer with an operating system that's not for gaming), or an alienware (an extremely overpriced prebuilt).
If you truly want a nice computer, you should look into each individual part.
There's http://www.logicalincrements.com/ which gives a nice list of parts and other parts that are generally at the same level, so just decide how much you want to spend.
Otherwise, go to pcpartpicker and make yourself a personal build. For gaming, you need more ram (8GB is really nice?) and a nice graphics card for the heavier games (for example NVidia GeForce 660 is what I'm about to upgrade to).
Oh and as a note - try getting an SSD. Most computers still use HDDs (as in, hard drives, the ones that store your information), but SSD is a newer type of technology that's much faster but more expensive. You should try one together with an HDD.

Personally it depends on the games. If you are looking for certain games some will only work on a PC. The Mac is finally upgrading their video system to work with ATI crossfire for dual Graphical Processing Units. (GPU) Many PC's mother boards have crossfire or SLI capability. Personally, if you want a Mac wait til the new version comes out this fall. It looks like a trash can or vacuum cleaner but it is a neat looking cylinder. Mac has upgraded it's Unix based OSX system to accommodate dual GPU's. This is a significant feature. Otherwise go to Falcon NW. They have a great PC dual graphics card system available now.
