Should I trim the bottom branches off my red maple trees?
I planted 3 red maple trees about 3 years ago. They were more like saplings, or trees in training, having trunks less than an inch wide. The trees have grown substantially but the bottom branches are touching the ground.
Should the bottom branches be removed?
Will the tree eventually grow so that the bottom branches will be high and at least 6' off the ground? Thank you!
