How can i get faster at a steady pace?

i have to go to this camp where we have to run a mile in 8.30. I tried practicing today to see if i could do it, but i got exhausted. i got .33 of a mile in 3 minutes. (not sure how far that is..?) lol so how can i improve?

I did track and did 1 mile in 5:30 just jog a little fast and on ur las 100- meter sprint it give it all u got

You probably want to start running slow the first half mile then give it your all on the other half.

Approximately, a nine minute mile at the pace noted above. Utilize Interval training with restraints when first starting out, opposing forms of high to low or vice versa intensity series throughout a set goal: Ex. Running. Don't overexert, but go the full distance. Allowing full recovery times. Doable.

It's all about how many strides U should take for each IN-breath, & each OUT-breath, I think. You have to figure out your own sustainable pace.

Simply build your cardio. Jog every other day, or do interval training where you combine jogging and running to develop strength while also building your endurance. Hope this helps!
