There is no scientific truth behind women being responsible for the gender of the child. In scientific study, it is stated that a man carries the x and the y chromosomes while a woman carries the x chromosomes. When fertilization takes place and the x chromosomes happens to meet, the sex of the child becomes a girl and if y meets x, the sex of the child is a boy. This is to verify the man is responsible for the sex of a child.
Good grief NO! I forget the details, but gender is decided by the male-some men have had trouble accepting this, and it wasn't known in days of yore, so historically, women have borne the brunt, as well as the baby!
Yes. Although what others have said about x and y chromosomes which is true, it turns out that sperm carrying x or y chromosomes respond differently to acidity. Therefore higher acidity levels in the vagina can disfavor male sperm and favor female sperm, thereby leading to greater probability for a child to be female over male. So in this sense the woman actually does affect the probability if the sex of the child despite the fact that the sperm decides the sex.
