What's it like living in France?

I've picked out several colleges in America, and one in Paris, France. I'm majoring in fashion merchandising. I know it's not guaranteed that I'll get in to E.S.M.O.D., but still, I want to know if I'll like it, because, as much as I would love living in France, I'm very Americanized. I love junk food, hate those ugly little smart cars that they have in Europe, and they probably don't have country or classic rock in France, either. But how is it, really?

Go there - you will never regret it for as long as you live.

But remember, if you go with an attitude of 'everything I know already is better' then they will hate you. Quite rightly. Go to learn about another culture - the French are very friendly people, love to know about others, but like everybody else, they like to be respected. France's culture goes back several thousand years, so they are not keen on Americans telling them that America is so much better!

Get some French before you go, and learn the language while you're there.

I lived in England the first 30 years of my life, my sister lives in France.

You will absolutely love studying in Paris - I'm jealous!

Actually, I'm quite fluent in french, and very open to their culture. I'm just gonna miss America for the 4 years I'm there.

It is amazing. You just need to learn the basics of the culture and language, and you will be fine. Try it!
