Is it normal

im 15 years old boy and i have been recently depressed and i have no clue why nothing bad has happened to make me depressed. if this is normal can you give me some advice to make me not depressed ....

I'm fourteen, and struggle with severe depression. It runs in my family. Some ways I deal with it is writing down thoughts, maybe in a journal. Try and keep busy, keep your mind of your sadness. Help others. If you belong to a religion, practice that religion often, or if not, find something to believe in. There's not much you can do to help it, if none of these work, seek help from a counselor, that's where I am now. Don't be afraid to ask for help. More people struggle with depression than we can see. Good luck ;)

You need to tell your parents. And next time ypu go to the doctor you can just tell him. Even if it is a stage. You can still tell it wouldn't hurt.

Sometimes the reasons are too small to notice but the effect is insidious. How I got over depression is by trying to stay positive, not making too big a deal of emotions, by changing my music playlist to more upbeat and positive ones (rock songs in my case), by caring less about things and people (but this one had side effects)

Don't tell a doctor! Dumbasses will put you on drugs. It's just a stage like numbers said. Give it some time. You'll feel better

Thats why i wasn't gonna tell a doctor my cousin had this problem they put him on so much drugs and such and he has formed a form of bipolar or something like that

Difficult question to answer. By "running in the family", may be indicative of a hereditary concern or because of "family" one may be depressed. Expressing one's thoughts to a close friend has been proven equally beneficial as speaking to a physician. Sunshine, exercise. positive interaction with others, etc as mentioned above are often quite helpful. Safe Journey

Dude, I'm 20 years old and I've felt depression since I was 15. If theres anything I can tell you it would be to get Involved with music. Learn to play an instrument, there's nothing like hearing yourself Play. That and come to realize that things aren't so bad. Look at all you have. Hope this helps you like it helped me.

Well thats the problem i love music and i do play guitar but i was in and accident and i had to get surgery on my wrist and had 4 screws and a plate put in i cant play as good anymore

I also write a lot. My mind wonders around so I make stories from my thoughts. If your the same you could try that.

Of course a dr. will put you on drugs. that's what they are for . see a psychiatrist.you will be surprised how many symptoms will disappear.. time wont heal . positive thinking or councelling won't heal. It is a chemical imballance in your brain.Please take care of this immediately. too many teenagers are committing suicide over depression.

Hi randomquestioner. I'm a 15 year old girl, and i have depression too :( Have you been thinking negative lately? That would certainly cause depression. If not, I'm not sure why you would develop it for no reason. I feel so bad for you that you have to go through this. I know what it's like. I only found out recently that i had it so im trying to figure out ways i can get over it. You can reply back to me if you wanna talk about it or if you need me to make you feel better! I'd be happy to help ^_^

Oh I see..... Well, It's quite common for people these days to simply get depression from lack of confidence and thinking negative about their appearance. Sometimes that's all it takes for it to start

Well, don't let that bother you. Try and work on gaining your self confidence since that is the root of your problem. You should get help before your depression worsens. And listen, not everybody is gonna care what you look like. I never judge people. And a lot of my friends think its kinda of funny because I'm pretty, but I always find the ugliest guys attractive. To me a guys personality matters not really the way they look. It's what's on the inside that counts. No joke. :) And don't let other people judge you! And if they do, don't worry about what other people think. That shouldn't matter to you

The main reason is not having a goal in your life, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.
Try to eat a healthy diet and exercise, because food really effects on your mood. (wow! that rhymes...)
Stay away from bread and all the other "fatties" for a while.
also, drink lots of orange juice, and get out in the sun for at least 15 minutes a day,
Vitamin C & D boost your mood and make u feel better ;)
