I've quit smoking and drinking, now social situations bore me? Any therapy techniques to cope?

it's just that tomorrow I will meet a friend I haven't seen in over 10 years, and somehow I don't want to go because A: I'm totally broke because I had to pay a hospital fee and B: I don't feel like going, id rather stay in and play video games :( (I know it sounds so rude and selfish)...I just am stressed lately in an apartment that I hate and have to wait till the lease runs out, my medication making me so tired and my bipolar is still going bonkers :( what can I do? Any little therapy ideas to help me cope perhaps?

Not much advice here, but remember, if you keep building a box around yourself that's all you'll have left in the end.

Just think, maybe seeing your friend will go well, get your mind off of those things! Try to relax, play some video games before you leave. xD

invite him over to play some games just so you guys can reconnect within familiar surroundings . afterwards go out and play some pool.

Go out even if you don't want to.

The thing to remember is when you give something up, you need to find something to put in its place. Of course it's always advisable to stop something that's not healthy and replace it with something that is healthy. But this certainly explains why lots of people who quit smoking gain weight.
