yes it is against people rights. unfortunately the people running the country are people who are god fearing and believe homosexuality is a sin and therefore do not deserve the same rights as everyone else. sooner or later they will all come around and see that most same sex marriages last longer than hetrosexual marriages.

Because its constitutional to let the people decide. Why don't they call it union instead of marriage? Same rights, different name. See marriage is defined in Bible by God. Between man and women. I think it would cause less friction. God is clear on what He thinks of homosexual offenders. Our country was founded on people who believe in God. Lots still believe in God. Get out of the Bible, they would probably have less resistance. Like me, I don't like what they do. I don't believe they should redifine marriage. I don't think the courts should over turn what people voted on. Prop 187 now this one and others. You may say I'm trying to push my beliefs. Its opposite, they are trying to push there beliefs on me. Like I said, it should be up to the voters, and they shouldn't use the traditional word defined in the Bible. Union or whatever they make up.
Because most of America is strict Christian. Free country? Hell no. Thank goodness for DOMA. The question is: Why do Christians care what other people are doing anyways? I mean, at least they will have more room in heaven or what ever they believe.
