Is 103 lbs. too skinny for my height?

I'm 5' 1", 20 years old, flat chest and butt haha. I dunno if that makes any difference but I included it anyway. I was talking with my grandmother today about my concerns of gaining a lot of weight due to Depo Provera which I just recently went on. She told me I'm way too skinny and it's unhealthy. I argued that for my height, it was a perfectly healthy weight and I am very comfortable with my weight at this point in time.

(Especially considering I just had a baby at the end of April ;) )

Is it too skinny??

my opinion (42yrs,women,5"8,143lbs) the ONLY thing that matters is that you are happy and comfortable with the way your body looks! But you have to be healthy not by your diagnosis but a doctors say! IF YOU HAVE THAT THEN WHO CARES WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS. MY theory is if you don't like don't look!

I don't believe so. If you feel comfortable in your own skin, then you're all good.

The healthy weight range for someone who is 5'1" is 98 - 132 pounds. So 103 pounds is perfectly fine and healthy.

No, I'm the same but I am younger than you, your bmi us right around where you want it. 100 percent perfect, think about it I would much rather be skinny than fat, right? Tell your grandma that you're perfect for your height!

While you might be in your BMI range it would also depend on how much muscle you have. You are near the low side and since you just had a baby I would expect you to be at least a little higher. But as long as you feel healthy, have energy, and are happy I think you are ok. But make sure sure you are eating enough especially since you just had a baby.

If you are getting all of your required nutrients - and you feel comfortable -this is a great weight - to live younger, longer, and with a significantly less chance of developing diabetes or other acquired diseases directly related to excess fat. Scientists in many major studies on longevity research have found that decreasing the caloric intake (while increasing the quality of calories consumed) for several mammal species with similar physiological make up to humans, has actually added 1/3rd to doubling their lifespans. The difficult part of "eating clean" is that so many billions of dollars have been invested in fast foods - healthy foods actually cost significantly more - which is how major corporations have designed it that way - profit before people - same old same old.
