Use spf15...30 minutes per side a day. You'll be sun-kissed in no time.

UV rays can cause sunburns and can lead to skin cancer. The vitamin D you get from the sun is good for your skin, but you should not lay out or be outside for long periods of time without sunscreen. Ulta sells a great gradual self-tanning cream called Kardashian Sun Kissed. It smells wonderful and gives you a dark, flawless tan without having to risk sun damage to your skin.

Try a sunscreen fit for your skin type, and spend maybe 15-30 minutes outside a day. This is crucial for obtaining Vitamin D. I have a dangerously low Vitamin D level which is believed to be partially hereditary (my mom has it too) and partially from not getting out in the sun a lot. I am a dancer, and I spend most of my time in a dance studio rather than outside playing sports or swimming.
While sunshine is extremely important to your health, too much sunshine can cause skin cancer. My mom spent a bit too much time in the sun at one point, and she developed some pre-cancerous stuff on her back. She got it removed just in time, but she is now at a 75% higher risk for getting skin cancer, so she has to limit her time outside. You don't want that!!!
Tanning for only 15-30 mins a day may take some time to develop a tan, so you may want to try a self-tanning lotion or even potentially a spray-tan. Either one of these combined with safe amounts of sunshine will lead to a gorgeous, safe tan!(;
