Are DVD's being phased out?

It seems like they're being replaced by Blue-Ray.

Report as

Well, Blue-Ray is still a DVD, but probably. I don't have a Blue Ray player. Ohwell. Doesn't really matter to me. :o

Blu-rays are NOT DVD's, that's like saying a DVD is a CD. Blu-rays have a higher memory capacity than either CD or DVD. DVDs are also not just movies. There are different types of a DVD (But it is called and still is a DVD), a DVD-Video disc, a DVD-ROM (Used for games, Pc program installations etc.). You only think a Blu-ray is still a DVD because you probably think a DVD is just a movie on a disc... Not so, same goes for Blu-rays, they have Blu-ray-ROM discs as well. Don't look at this as an insult or anything, i don't mean it that way.

No. They still have plenty of regular dvds you can buy. Go up to stores like best buy, wal mart, k-mart and target and I have seen hundreds of regular dvds. They can'T phase out regular dvds because evryone does not have a bluray or can affod one. Bluray is just more popular than the regular version.
