No, but it helps. Chances are very slim you'd ever get to the NBA without being at least 5'10"--6'. You can play basketball while short as long as you are a decent enough player. Spud Webb was only 5'4" and he could do amazing dunks.
No! Some short players are really good too! I am only 5 foot, and I play! It would probably help if u were taller but u can't help it! Don't be self conscious of ur body bc u haven't even grown into it all the way yet!! Hope I helped :)

Although it is advantageous to be tall, it is not a requirement. A person of any size can play, but the taller players have a tendency to be better than others. There were some short players in the NBA that were really good, but you don't see it too often now.
no ! look at Nate Robinson , he's tiny ! it helps if you're tall though ! shorter people don't do good down low , but up high you'll be fine ! when you rebound , you HAVE to block out or you won't get the ball . one good thing about being short and playing basketball is you can get a lot of calls against people for over the back . when I was in 4th grade I played on an AAU team with 8th and 9th graders . I was puny compared to them ! You'll just have to learn to find ways to do things !
