A hyperbole is a figurative language that uses exaggeration for emphasis, such as "I'm starving" when you have not eaten in four hours, or "I've been waiting forever" when that is impossible because you probably were born at some point. In this context, "if I can't be happy no one can" cannot be considered a hyperbole. http://people.virginia.edu/~jrw3k/Front%20Pages/Critical%20Vocabulary.htm has more on this.

Sorry rawr, not hyperbole, which means intentional exaggeration, an extravagant statement. That sentence is plain, simple. EG: If I can#039;t be happy nobody this side of the moon can.
