How come Paula deen's being dropped by most of her sponsors for something she said years ago and lil Wayne can stomp all over the

American flag and nothing happened to him? what's wrong with America that we we persecute people but not equally? I just don't get it. I don't agree with what either of them did but I think stomping all over the flag is pretty a really bad offense. what do y'all think about this?

Report as

I think you're right ! Each was wrong, but I guess it's easier to persecute Paula Dean. Someone stomping on the flag is also a bad offense. It makes me sick because I fought for that flag! I guess nowadays it's OK for rap stars to do as they please and a lady who has publicly apologised for her mistake cannot. It's not fair that people are not persecuted fairly. This country has changed so much for the worse. Such a shame!

Deen has the right to sell as many albums as she can. I doubt lil wayne has many corporate sponsorships to lose in the first place.

Lil Wayne is black. He will just accuse people of being racist and get his way.

Guys, please keep in mind that reporting inappropriate content is wonderful, but continuing to talk about the issue can just make it worse, and makes moderating the situation more difficult. :) If you see something inappropriate, simply report it, we'll find it and make sure it needs to go :)
Report as
How would talking about it make it worse?
Report as
Plain and simple - report it and move on. Talking about it stirs up drama and it's also a form harassment. Even if someone else started it, it's not ok to do it back, and we don't tolerate it on the site.
Report as
why are you getting so pissed about it?
Report as
Tas : Just let it go! It's over and done with. Move on.
Report as
I agree I didn't want a debate or argument just some options
Report as
Just to put it in some perspective, when we have to deal with drama like this, it means that we are spending time focused on one issue, rather being able to take care of our other duties. So instead of just having to remove a handful or so of violations we are suddenly having to remove a whole lot more, and it explodes exponentially. It makes for a whole lot more work, and then we'll get others wondering why other things aren't being taken care of. :)

Just let it slide, guys! This gal with the mouth will hang herself. The Mods work hard and don't always have the time to deal with big mouths. I agree, but we have to play by the rules. She already commented on something I answered and I just told her : Do not comment on my answers! I don't care about your opinion. She'll be gone soon. No trolling now, Tas ! LOL....

Because this is corporate America. It's all about money and image. Wayne's image isn't hurt by him doing something stupid. He's a musician, they are all idiots. You never noticed America is unfair? It's real tough on rich white ladies.Pfft.

Lil Wayne is doing pretty well in this horrible country. He couldn't stomp the flag in other countries, AND get paid for it. He would be arrested in most, and sent to prison, and be put out of business. Look what happened to the girl band in Russia.

I'm sure she was upset. As anyone would be. And Paula dean is being punished for it. I can't tell you how many times I've been called a cracker...and I never owned a slave. Every patient I roll up on in an ambulance gets the same treatment from me no matter what their skin color. And I wear an American flag on my uniform.
Report as
It's time to throw away the race card forever!! I do discriminate If I like you then I like you it doesn't have anything to do with skin color and its the same if I don't like you.

Lil Wayne aka the worst rapper alive, is black and he also has money, so he'll just accuse people for racism and bail himself out. And nobody made a big deal about him on stomping on the American flag because nobody cares about him. Absolutely nobody. He's like that cousin at a party that you didn't know was there.

I'm not really starting anything, I'm just simply stating my opinion with some facts. Also Lil Wayne pretty much owns his own record label. So he can't drop himself.

Why do any of you care about Paula Deen? There are important news stories that are not getting the attention they deserve. Her situation is not up for debate, anything you think and or say will not make any difference in what has/will happen to her future. My advice get over it, worry about yourselves.

As for lil Wayne, he did not intentionally "stomp" on the American flag, he was shooting a music video and the flag was a backdrop to show the people behind him. Yes the flag was on the ground and yes he did step on it. I'm sure he meant nothing by it. He is an American and lives the American dream, I highly doubt he wants to disgrace himself a public figure, by stomping on something so dear to our country.

Because the only racism the media recognizes is white racism. The only time they criticize the "n-word" is when a white uses it. The harm done by such unfair application of moral rules is liberal hypocrisy and a form of racial bullying, race baiting and propaganda. It makes our society less civil, and as its ONLY done by the left, it's how the left is tearing down the fabric of American society. To be respected, I would prefer if they built up America, found consensus rather than confrontation, compromise rather than conflict. of course, this is true of Republicans also, but less so-- Republicans are all-too-willing to let high government taxing and spending stand, so that they lately haven't got the courage of their convictions.

Because Paula Deen is supposed to be a warm and mortherly figure.. not someone who uses profanity. Lil wayne is expected to be controversial and offensive. That doesn't mean either of them are justified in their actions. But if Paula Deen wants to keep making money for being this warm, southern character, then she has to act that way. If she wants to use the N word like lil wayne then she is free to do so, but that's not why the companies want her or pay her. People, especially republicans, are just having a field day with this because it lets them play victim. Oh, poor white people!! We're called crackers but we don't complain about it!! Okay, for one, this isn't all about Paula Deen being white. It's about how she was being paid to act a certain way, but once it's discovered that she doesn't fit that mold, she's not gonna be paid anymore. That's life. Companies have the freedom to pay whomever they want to. I'm sure if some olympic athelete started putting on weight and doing drugs, they'd stop getting paid by the companies too. Sorry, but Paula Deen is not immune.

When you stomp on the flag, you are stomping on the American people, as well as the government, that's a worse offense than using inappropriate, language, or words. Words mean nothing, actions do.

Helpful (2) Fun Thanks for voting Comments (3)

Agreed!! But I wish Paula had never used that word
Report as
I agree with you, it was inappropriate. But I believe LiL Wayne's actions were , just as bad, I hope I'm not in the minority, his action was an insult to all Americans, especially veterans, many died for what the flag stands for, "All the people."
