Is there allergies to wild game

My daughter was recently diagnosed with Food allergies. Too many to name, but one being corn. She is even allergic to a lot of fruits & vegetables. She is basically starving to death because her allergies are preventing her to only consume black beans, brown rice & oatmeal basically, all organic. This has been going on for months now. I am very worried about her. She cannot eat any other meat than Wild Salmon that I know of. My question is; Would anyone know if she would be allergic to wild game, venison etc?

There would be no way of knowing if she would be allergic to wild game, such as venison, without her being tested specifically for those items. If I were you, I would be seeing a nutritionist. With all of her allergies, there has to be some things she can eat without having a problem. Hopefully as she gets older, she will outgrow a lot of it. I was allergic to a host of foods, along with animals, and vegetation. As I got older, I grew out of it but I also took two rounds of allergy shots.

Thank You...My daughter was just diagnosed by an allergy speciaist. She is 30 yrs old & has never had food allergies before. I am trying to find a Dr who specializes in food allergies. I'm not sure if Mayo clinic has this kind of Dr. I guess I will go to their website! She has the same allergies as you, no vegetables, no fruit, no meat etc...I am worried about malnutrition more than anything & her mental state of mind because of the lack of vareity in her diet. She is trying really hard not to let this affect her that way but I would be going crazy! haha I LOVE TO EAT & I know she does too! Oh well what do you do? She has been so good about all of this but it has been a year now & she eats no meat. Protein is almost non-existent. she takes several supplements I know but geezzz. That's why i wondered about wild game? No preservatives , chemicals or hormones involved...just pure nature! : ) TY for your concern. We are checking into the shots as well. Regards, CB

This is very interesting & I'm sorry to hear shes having such a rough time of it.

I can't think of any meat allergies I've heard of, either from domesticated or wild animals. I CAN, however, think of several additives to meat products that cause allergic reactions. Hormones, antibiotics, & dyes being highest on the list. I would be working with her allergist & a nutritionist (have them collaborate) to pinpoint exactly what causes the reactions. Otherwise, wild game & organics are her best options.

Thank You very much...We are working on that right now : ) I agree it's the additives, hormones etc...that are causing the bad reactions. But I think wild game such as Deer, Elk etc...would not be harmful to her as long as it was shot in the wild!! : )
