In my opinion, it would be better if you talked to him openly about the situation. Secondly, praise and acknowledge his efforts and achievements in school. Thirdly, teach him that actions have consequences and teach him how to deal with conflicts the right way. Finally, encourage good study and be a good role model to him.

I was going to say move to the country and do home schooling...but, what about your work and what if he doesn't take to it. I myself would like to work in the country and i would be good...so perhaps ?
Let him know the consequences of it and let him know how much you care about him too much to lose him to a gang ask him why hes in one and also take him to a jjc facility to let him know and show him where he could end up your a great father for being concerned.. <3
