What's the difference between a short story and a novel?

Report as

A novel is quite different from a short story. A novel is a fictional prose narrative of a considerable length and it has action, thoughts and dialogue in its plot. A short story is much shorter and it focuses on a single episode mostly of one character.

A novel is longer, and usually is fictional. A short story is just as it sounds, it's a short story.

Short stories tend to remain in a single character's point of view, Novel often offer more than
one point of view. Short stories tend to be more unified in time and place than novels in similar settings and mode...
