Why does a head cold seem to usually strike upon awakening when you there was no sign of illness when you went to bed?

I felt fine today but was a little tired so i took a nap and woke up with a cold! Is it just my imagination?

Nope, seems to happen that way. Don't know why though. Seems like you go to bed just fine and something will find you in your sleep.
