What's a good small, chewy and healthy dog food?

I have a apple head Chihuahua and she's a bit over-weight. she's at least 11 or 12 and has lost a lot of teeth and cant really chew very well, so she just swallows it whole. and of course I want to help her lose the weight, but I might need your help finding the correct healthy dog food. what's a good small, chewy and healthy dog food?

Moist and meaty is what I feed my dog. It comes in a big box, individually packaged. If you have a bigger dog you might want to feed it more than one pack of food

we buy blue for our miniature daschund but i don't think it would be soft enough for a dog that has lost a lot of teeth, i would try the moist and meaty like mandapandamay suggests and maybe give her half of the pack until i got it regulated how much she really needed, cause you don't want her to get too hungry but there's a lot of different brands that have weight management recipes that dogs love maybe pedigree, or ceasars {hope i spelled that right} we sell a lot of both , i know cause i do a lot of stocking on top of my regular job at kmart or call a vet they can't charge you over the phone or pet smart good luck

Blue has a lot of recalls, pet owners complain of their pets becoming sick....check out dog foods on google before you buy.

Most dogs will eat anything. But you want to feed them something moist because the moister it is the easier to chew and swallow.

Try to feed something without any preservatives or chemicals. Closest to fresh food possible. No kibble is natural! If it has meat, which you hope it does, it will have preservatives or it would go bad in the bag. Try www.drharveys.com if you want the really best for your dog. You will be glad you did!

Well I have a poodle and when she was younger all she would eat was are toys, but every dog goes through that. After her phrase she only ate wet food and smacko's
I would recommend smacko's to anyone.

Dogs eat anything they want. Healthy food means food which has protein, vitamins. Give your dog nutritious diet. Keep in mind of taking your dog for regular exercise.

Nutro is a really good brand... but as long as you don't buy some really crappy dog food it's okay. You mainly just need to buy her a quality dog food, and give it to her in very small portions. DON'T feed her tale scraps that's how our dog got really fat. Now for the swallowing issue, just water down her food before you give it to her... Never use the wet dog foods, those are not a very quality dog food. Also, when you feed them the wet food they can get hooked on it and wont eat any other dog food except for the wet kind. Hope this helps! Good luck with your dog. :)

The Dogs Butter from Dog For Dog is a great alternative to sugary and salty human peanut butter and much better for dogs. .The company’s other products, Dogs-bars, are great too…a power-bar for dogs.
