How can an extrovert live only surrounded by introverts?

I am a moderately extroverted individual. I like to talk to people. Not excessively, but yes I enjoy a good conversation. Most of the people around me are introverts, and quite often the response I get when I try to initiate a conversation is something like "shut up and go away",or the silent equivalent. I am getting lonely and depressed. I'm just about to give up trying to be around people.

oooh no! don't do that. I know that if you could expand your circle or make new friends out of your circle completely you wouldn't have problem. also, have you tried studying the introverts around you to see what their real interests are? sometimes just a few well worded questions about anothers interests will see them off and running with talk. at first let them go for a little time until you gradually start asking questions then you can start interjecting your ideas and opinions. pretty soon----viola! a conversation. good luck....

That's do hard!!! I'm out going as well and I couldn't imagine being surrounded by closed off quiet people. I know you'll stay out going cause you can't help it but you do need some time with like minded people. I'm not putting introverts down, I know many of them and like them.

That's not introverted, it's mean and not nice at all. There are lots of people of all kinds out there. You just have to put effort into meeting them.
