I'm trying to fix trim around my front door and I started to take the old trim off before I realized it was part of the door frame any help?
Since you already started removing the old trim, you should take it all off and install a new trim. Trim it so that it fits neatly against the door frame. Close off any gaps by adjusting the angles using a sander. Nail the new trim in place using finish nails. If you have splintered the wood around the door, bondo body filler will repair it. Sand it, then paint.
