What does "a spam lamb" mean? It's from 4077 MASH, episode "Private Charles"... I know it's some fake lamb meat, but what exactly?

English isn't my native language so I don't understand it... thx for the answer

Yep ! It's just a couple of good ole cans of Spam shaped and seasoned when you could, like a leg of lamb. Spam has a unique taste and quality. I haven't touched it in over 40 years since I was in the service. But it was a delicacy in war time. Warm kinda meat ! You need to try some to really appreciate it.

actually it has no lamb in it a "spam lamb" is a pile of Spam ( brand name of a canned chopped spiced ham product) that is molded into the shape of a cooked lamb. (not to be confused with the internet term "spam" which is unwanted email/posts, usually advertisements or someone sending you chain letters etc)

American GI delicacy ! We had to like it. Better than some of the stuff in cans that you really weren't for sure what it was !

Because during WW2 there was so much of it there for supplies that we gave piles of it away! They started eating it, and still like it to this day.
