How to disable the bars that appear at the bottom of some webpages like Yahoo, Business Courier, for example

Some of the bars contain advertising and others have icons with letters, like "f" and "t." The bars slow down the page loading, add no value, and cause extra scrolling, especially when using a netbook with a smaller screen. My pop-up blockers and privacy settings don't seem to help.

If you are using Internet Explorer, go to Tools and click on Options. Next, click on Privacy and then click next to Block Pop-ups. You can go to settings for more options like disabling sound.
