Car idling issue 03 Pontiac sunfire

so yesterday my car seemed to want to turn off when parked. the A/C was off and we love where it is in the 80 most of the times. anyway, the RPM meter was moving slightly, and sometimes when I accelerated a little (in park) the car would try to turn off, the light on my dash dimmed a little. would a fuel injection cleaner fix this? I had an oil change 2 days ago. oh I did have a check engine light Evaporative System Malfunction, Small Leak. could this be related. I cleared it and it has not came back.

Make sure your gas cap is on tightly. See if something got disconnected or loosened during the oil change, like a hose or connection.

I will check. But how about the fuel injection cleaner? Would that help?

It won't hurt to clean the injectors occasionally. I buy an fuel injector cleaner at the Dollar Store a few times a year, but mostly around the winter.
A passing thought is that it will help if you got water in your fuel tank after all the rain that we've been having.

I don't get it? The mod on duty today has been butchering my answers, but yours survived. Star to you!

GM products are notorious for engine Idling issues due to the flimsy design of their vacuum system. If you recently had the serpentine belt replaced, check to see if the mechanic didn't use your air pump as a fulcrum to release pressure on the tensioner pulley. The pump may have been cracked.
