I have an incisional hernia....
My question is, if it doesn't bother me, is surgery still necessary? Pros and cons of getting the corrective surgery, or not getting the surgery.
I need to be honest and let you know, that I got the hernia 10 years ago, when I had my son by c-section. At first, it was the size of a plum. Over the last 10 years though, it has stretched and expanded to the size of a large grapefruit. When my intestines get twisted or they "pop out", I am able to push them back in. It is rarely painful, and is not that noticeable, unless I am laying down on my back. So knowing all of that, do I really need the surgery? Or, can I wait until I can't fix it?
P.s. I am terrified of hospitals, and doctors!
