Spending the most time with the dog is generally how dogs attach themselves emotionally to members of their pack...however, there is a 'chemistry' between people and dogs where there may be a remarkable connection between one person in the family and the family dog. Much like how people interact .. some have a far deeper connection than others...and either you have it, or you don't .. you can't manipulate it or 'create' it.
Generally, spend A LOT of time with the dog. It'll create a bond between you two, and eventually the dog will favor you over everyone else. But I find that it's hard to make a dog change its mind once it picks favorites :/
Dogs think their owner is the one who feeds them, takes them to the bathroom, plays with them, etc. Just make sure you are the one doing everything for your dog :) Also provide enough play time together :)
Dogs are drawn to certain people. I have no idea why. Most of the dogs in my family preferred me. But one, loved one of my sons, he would never leave his side. I don't know why. They seem to pick out their person.
Walk him, pet him, feed him, etc. you want all of the time you two spend together to be positive activities so that when your dog sees you, they will know that positive activities and treats come to him when he hangs out with you
Let the animal see you feeding him. Filling his bowl, and the water dish. YOU provide for him. He only eats after you do if you give him healthy bits from the table. If he looks at you while you are eating just make a little disapproving noise. He should look away. If he leaves the room that means he respects you deeply. http://dogbreedinfo.com/ Is a link I left at another question you asked.
