What kind of tree is this?

What is the type of tree that has a redish color, rough bark. It may be a type of pine tree. It grows in a forest and i like to think in a forest with more than just this kimd of tree. I don't think that it's a redwood because its not that massive.

Sounds like a cedar. Very common in my neck of the woods. Redwood and Sequoia are both related to the type of Cedar that is common in the Pacific NW. Cedar has a very distinctive aroma. It smells really good and it's naturally resistant to insects. That's why they line closets with it.
