Parents: what age would you want your child to start dating?

I'd ask my mom but it's become a pretty awkward conversation and I'd like to avoid that as much as possible

Teenagers will date regardless of the age their parents allow. Setting an age requirement will only lead to secrecy, by keeping an open relationship and trusting their children to make the right decisions/ trusting them is much better than restrictions.

I'm not a parent but I pace my dating age at around 16+ just cause at that age some teens can handle the responsibilities of being in a relationship and the depression it will bring you.

You'd eventually need her permission with this. At least her consent. and uhm my EX girlfriend was 16.. so? I'll go with 16.

But, 16 ...... mmm.. still needs a bit more maturing. Also depends on one's maturity and emotional stability. Some really do mature faster than others. Parents are there to guide you til you can do so yourself don't neglect their words about it.

I'm not a parent, but if I were, I wouldn't let my kid date until at least 15.

A mature 16 would be ideal in my book.

I'm not a parent, but my dad let my older sister date when she turned 15, so I'd say around that age is acceptable. At any age kids are going to want to have boyfriends and girlfriends but it's not actually dating unless their parents know and let them go on dates.

My mom won't let me 'till after college. But I don't think the age should matter but the maturity, if you're not mature then you're not ready but if you are then... you might want to consider it; I think I'm mature enough but idk....
