How can I get rid of a major headache without medicine?

I don't have any pain relievers, and have a really bad headache. Any way to get rid of it, or coll it down?

Try a stong cup of coffee. Sometimes caffeine can help relieve a headache. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water, so you're not dehydrated. You can also try a cold washcloth on the back of your neck, or across your forehead, while laying down in a dark and quiet room. I hope you feel better soon.

Drink lots of water, you could be dehydrated. You can place an ice pack on your neck and forehead. Have a strong cup of coffee, caffeine is in most pain killers. Hope you get better.

caffeine or water if it's constricted blood vessels in brain, eat if you haven't eaten enough, get comfortable temperature (headaches can come from too hot or too cold around you) fresh air, or rest if you haven't rested well enough. also it may be muscle sorenes (hunching over puts stress on back/ neck) so fix posture, or muscle rub... and, there's a pressure point in the "tissue" between your thumb's base and index finger (apply pressure on both sides... don't know how it works, but it works very well for me)

Just an FYI, "constricted blood vessels in the brain" would actually work to diminish a headache not cause one. This is the principle behind the use of caffeine since it is thought to constrict blood vessels in the brain.

Any compound that thins the blood will work. If you don't have aspirin available, just lost of water will thin your blood. You could try some tea but if you add sugar then that defeats the purpose.

There are so many ways depends on individuals habit also..... like, Taking heavy water / taking tea / taking coffee / clearance of stools / sleeping a while etc.

There are many reason and causes of headache, like light, noise, extreme weather, travelling, any sort of thing out of daily activities including delay in sleeping eating and drinking some coffee or tea. One thing you should trough from your life that is Depression and Tension.

Just keep your self away from tension and depression. You can relax yourself by sincerity and positive mind always. Always think good, expect good but not worried for any circumstances. Make your self strong, you will get over headache.

In fact i am also patient of migraine for last 25 years..........

Can any body help me.

caffeine, dehydration and hunger are often causes so drink water and eat something with lots of protein, warm or cold compress on your forehead, and if all else fails sleep and when u wake up even from only an hour you will most likely feel as good as new

No fault with any of the answers so far...they are all good ideas and it is good that the answers are shown to be what works for them...hope one or many of them helped you...my issue is why you got the headache...in headaches that range all the way from a bit of stress headache to serious ones that are labeled migraines there are reasons [medical, emotional, psychological, teachers, parents, or significant others in our lives...taxes or homework :<) they can all hurt and only we can talk about the level of that pain]...but they all have causes...if they return to the level you experienced please don't just treat them... find out why...sometimes we have to seek professional help...hope this helps.

I either sleep, or my personal favorite, make a rice sock. Get uncooked rice and put it in a sock that doesn't have a match. Heat it up for 30 seconds to 1 minute and put it on your head or neck, or any other place that hurts. :)

I was going to say a heating pad but I like the rice sock idea. Uses less energy, too. I've wrapped a heating pad around my head many times but I've also taken an Excedrin, too.

Our family suffers from chronic migraine and because of glaucoma , none of the pharma products can be used try 1 cup of hot chocolate just luke warm.

When I was pregnant, I would get horrible headaches. Someone told me to rub from the bottom of the back of your neck upwards into the beginning of the scalp. It actually worked well.

There are many ways and since you mentioned - How to get rid of a major headache without medicine? Just try this one I did many years ago with fantastic results without taking nothing not even water. And it takes 2 persons, two diner table chairs. Sit down right in front to each other. The person in front of you should grab the middle joint of your pointer finger of each of your hand, with their thumb and pointer fingers. Your friend should press hard for about 5 to 10 minutes and then release it. Your headache should be gone. It's a pressure point pain relief I have learned many years ago. Be happy.

First try and find out WHY u might have gotten the headache, for example if its due to lack of sleep or stress then relax and sleep, if its due to lack of water or food then drink and eat....
do things u enjoy and things that make u relaxed ex. read a good book, take a nice long bath, go out with friends, eat ur fav. food, drink some hot chocolate or coffee etc.

you can get rid of a bad headache by resting and not interacting with people.It helps me a lot to drink some ginger tea

Wet a wash rag with cold water and put it on your forehead. Take a nap. Take a warm bath. Drink something with caffeine in it.

Massage your big toes and or thumbs. Also massage the area on your hand under and between the bottom of your thumbs and index fingers. (the web area)

When I have a headache, I use Deep Blue Rub from Doterra Essential oils. I'd recommend it! Drinking water and getting sleep help with.

black tea, cold compress on head/neck, drinking lots of water, fresh air, massaging your head, (this might be wierd)- eating an apple,(but it works!) and sleeping.
