What is the difference between Muslims and Christians?

I feel as if Allah and Jehovah are the same God. And that the Holy Bible and Holy Quran are just about the same too. I'm in a confused state, please help me.

Allah is the only God for the whole universe. He is the God of all humanity including Muslims, Jews and Christians. The word 'Allah' is the Arabic word for God as AaLaH or AaLoH is the Aramaic word for God and Eloah or Elohim is the Hebrew word for God. So the origin of the word 'Allah' in Arabic, Aramaic and Hebrew is the same because they are Semitic languages.

It is Allah who sent down the Torah and the Gospel ... but they have been changed ... so the necessity for a new book to restore the original message which is that God is One with no partner or son ...

The difference is that God in Islam is One with no partner or son , He never indwells in any of his creatures nor do they indwell in Him . And that Jesus (PBUH) is a prophet like Muhammad (PBUH) ...

I believe that it is the same God, it is just that every religion praise Him by it's own way, believes and acts.
There are similarities and there are differences.

My personal belief is it is the same god. Have you ever played telephone as a kid? The game where you have a circle of friends One person whispers something in one person's ear and that person whispers what they heard in the net person's ear. At the end you tell the original message and what you heard. There is always a difference. I think when religion started, and different people started writing it down it came out like the telephone game.

I think renglemsr summed it up pretty well. The main difference is that Muslims see Jesus as a prophet and christians believe Jesus is the "son" of the trinity godhead (there are a few variations with in christianity as well). There are some other rules and guideline differences, but yes, both religions are based on what is referred to as the "Abrahamic" God, which came from the Canaanite pantheon.

Jesus is Christ, not just a good man or prophet.

The Christian God and Allah are the same, but different aspects. Allah is seen as slightly more strict, for example. The Bible is mentioned in the Quran as a holy book, so I wouldn't say they are the same. They tell very different stories, but they each tell the history of Earth and of the power and commandments of Allah/God.

"Christians" referred to as Paul did in the Bible know the one true God and have accepted His free gift of salvation. Jesus Christ is God. Muhammad is just a human man. Muhammad died and is still dead. Jesus died but rose again the third day. He was transfigured into heaven where he rules and reigns preparing a mansion for all those who have accepted His free gift of salvation from hell. He will call home those who have accepted Him at the rapture. then there will be 7 years of tribulation on earth for those who have not accepted Him. then the millenial reign will happen where he returns to earth the second time to reclaim his earthly throne. muslim and christianity are exact opposites. God is love. Allah is destruction. to learn more about God's love and free gift read Romans 3:23; 6:23; 5:8; and 10:13. also John 3:16 is helpful. read the king james version of the bible, it has not been corrupted by textual critics. please don't respond with arguments. im not a debater... who can debate against God?!

Muhammad - Born in about 570 CE in the Arabian city of Mecca,[11][12] Muhammad was orphaned at an early age and brought up under the care of his uncle Abu Talib.

the God of the bible is far different from the God of Muslim. one thing that we have to notice is that. the book of quran has also the characters of the bible. the doubt here is which between these 2 books is the original and which is the photo copy?

1. quaran claimed that adam was the first prophet but in the bible adam is not a prophet.
2. the doctrines of the bible is different from doctrines of quoran.

mohammad just existed 570 CE/AD - commom era - this means that the bible has been already existed before the book quran.

the book of John was written around 96-98 AD/CE - mohammad just existed 570 CE/AD
i dont know if mohammad was reading the bible during his time.

the issue here is that why is it that quran adopted the characters of the bible like adam, abraham, jesus and etc. how is that?

if i am going to chose faith, i am going to cleave to the original.

the last prophet according to bible is JOhn the baptist.

and the last apostle is PAul.

the bible is enough to gain salvation there is no need to write another book just like what mormon faith did

mormon made their own bible, different characters and etc.

apostle PAUl said in his epistle

Galatians 1:88 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

saint Paul warned us to stick with the doctrines that was already written THERE IS NO NEED TO MAKE another book. the book of the apostles and their doctrines are enough for salvation.

Paul knew nothing about any of the NT writings, the only things we know of paul is the epistles he wrote. But during his lifetime, there was no bible, outside of most of the books of the OT. and those were not set until long after his life came to an end. So it is really hard to say what "Gospel" he spoke of, because the ones in the bible did not exist while he was alive.

you are wrong, during his time there was already bible. infact even during Jesus christ time there was already bible. jesus said to the jews, IS IT NOT WRITTEN IN YOUR LAW?

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

it was written in the law or old testament the phrase " Ye are gods?" -

do not get confused, the bible is a compilation of books written by the people of God. old testament and new testament. old testament is already a bible.

now what about new testament? was there already bible in the time of apostle paul? answer is "THERE IS"

the letters that he was sending to gentiles and jews were the bible itself. his epistle, wirtings that he was sending to different locales and places were the bible but it was not printed on the paper just like what we can see right now. but no matter where or how it was printed or written it is still the bible.

Stephen, I said NT, the OT was nearly set during Paul's time. NONE of the NT books were even written until after Paul died. Well except for his own epistles. And NONE of them were any part of any bible, the biblical books were not determined until the Council of Niceia in about 360 CE. Prior to that there were multiple Gospels, epistles and writings, but most written after Paul's death.

Christians believe in the Old Testament and the new. They also believe Jesus was the son of god, and the last prophet. Muslims believe in the Old Testament and the new, and the Koran. But they don't believe Jesus was the son of god, just a prophet, and that his message was incomplete so god sent Muhammed to finish the message. They do both believe in the same god, as do the Jews.

Islam is a religion. Religion involves doing things, saying prayers, keeping rituals. However, Christian faith is not a religion but a restored relationship. You can have a relationship with Jesus right now. There is no waiting to see what will happen to you at death. You can claim the promise of eternal life now and know that you are going to heaven when you die. Jesus told a religious man, Nicodemus, that he must be born again. A spiritual rebirth must take place now.
