You don't say how much running you've done, but don't under-estimate the difficulty and dangers in what you're planning to do.
Trail-running is hilly, often hot and dry, depending on whereabouts you're running. So you will need to do a long run every week - maybe you already do this - ideally on trails, with increasing mileage week by week. You will need to run hills also - again, build up over a period of weeks. This is about 15 miles, so I'd suggest you build up to at least a comfortable, weekly 12 mile trail run beforehand.
If you properly prepare your body for this, there's no reason it shouldn't be a successful, fun and positive experience.
