My sister's Hawaii wedding.Airfare is over 4k .My parents say I should pay for whole trip more than 8k.Should they pay for airfare?

We live the furthest away and my parents are paying for the wedding. We are in the wedding party.

One of the protocols that is often overlooked is the fact that the travel of out-of-town guests are to be paid for by the brides family. You're not considered a "guest" but they should cover your travel regardless in such an extreme situation. I think I'd find a way to bring that up.

Yeah the deffo should. Its your money and they shouldn't be forcing you to pay for anything. If your sister can't afford her wedding maybe she should make it way cheaper instead of making others pay for it.

It all depends on you and if you can afford it and are willing to pay. If not, then they should pay their own airfare. Since it's not your wedding, you have the choice to help your sister or kindly decline to fund it.

I'm sorry but if you want expect people to n in the wedding party then you can't expect them to flip the bill to participate. They should definitely be paying your airfare.
