How to build muscle and get used to carryin heavy objects?

I'm 13 and haven't hit puberty, but I need to carry a heavy instrument for marching band. HELP!!!?

To build muscle you have to workout, but you are just 13 so it is not a good age for heavy workouts ,you can do light exercises that keeps you energetic and fit like push ups and chin ups. Take milkshakes daily will help strengthen your bones. And take a healthy diet.

Sorry if I sound pathetic, I haven't worked out in forever, what's a chin up, and how many reps of push-ups and chin-ups should I do?

Well.chin ups is the exercise in which you have to raise up your body while hanging from hands until your chin is level with the support bar.
