Go ahead. You Christians decided to ignore the Old Testament, and therefore you ignored the dietary laws too. You eat cheeseburgers don't you? Only Jews like me follow the strict dietary laws. And Muslims don't eat pork, but pigs are just one of the many, animals we are not allowed to eat.

Pork is infected with several different pests that is why it must be cooked well done, and there is NO grading system for pork.

[15] There is nothing from without a man that entering into him, can defile him. But the things which come from a man, those are they that defile a man.

[16] If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. [17] And when he was come into the house from the multitude, his disciples asked him the parable. [18] And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? understand you not that every thing from without, entering into a man cannot defile him: [19] Because it entereth not into his heart, but goeth into the belly, and goeth out into the privy, purging all meats? [20] But he said that the things which come out from a man, they defile a man.

[21] For from within out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, [22] Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. [23] All these evil things come from within, and defile a man.

Matthew

John 15
[3] Now you are clean by reason of the word, which I have spoken to you.

Titus 1
[15] All things are clean to the clean: but to them that are defiled, and to unbelievers, nothing is clean: but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.

I guess we're allowed to eat pork because we have been made clean, and aren't defiled. Why do you think you'll be defiled if you eat pork? Look at Titus 1:15 for your answer. Your right, all I see is about us.

Jesus made all things clean as long as we bless it we should be able to eat it. Look at Peter when he was fasting in the book of Acts. Jesus made it clean but we should not eat to much of it. Called over eating

If he was talking about people but Peter was fasting and praying that Jesus said eat I make all thing clean. He talking about food not people
Report as
He was talking about both actually. He said kill and and eat. I make all things common and clean. So Jesus bless all things so we can eat pork or anything that is food. So it's was just for Peter what he had to eat. It also for us to. God put here for us. But Jesus came to put those laws to rest on how we eat. I thinked we can anything as long as we bless it and give thanks. As long we don't over eat. Also called gluten

You actually cannot! You should take a look to Leviticus 11 and see what you can and what you can't eat!

Or look at Acts 10 and see that its all good under Christ.

I agree God made all things clean. The things were done away in the old testment. As long as we ask God to bless it were okay.

Actually they arent done, you should read Matthew 15:17.

Why would God say kill and eat?

Well it never said what he ate. But he bless it in Acts 10
Report as
I am sure you understand that blessing is not the same as eating! But remember that Jesus commanded his followers not to add or subtract even ONE IOTA from the Torah. And, the Torah specifically prohibits eating of pork, along with all other animals with cloven hoofs.
Report as
Than why would he say it in Acts 10. That he said kill and eat that he all thing clean and common. So wouldn't pork be include to eat. So if Peter had a pig before him and The Lord said kill and eat. So he would disobey God and not eat. Peter was weak and he need to eat no matter what was in front of him.
Report as
In Leviticus 11 you can clearly read everything you're allowed to eat, and what you're not.
Report as
Your missing the spritual side of it.
Report as
You can live by the dietary laws but Jesus did away with that law. He has made everything that Jesus touches he has made clean. Than you be sinning. Those were the laws of that time for obeisance. I thinked your missing the understanding.
Report as
If Jesus and Jehovah are the same god, didn't Jesus inspire the dietary laws of OT himself?

Of course. Dietary restrictions do not exist in Christianity and have not since the new covenant under Christ. Early dietary restrictions existed mainly for health reasons to keep them safe and, as most of the old law did, to hold Gods people separate from the pagan cultures around them. With Christ much if the old law changed. You can continue to follow old law diets if you choose for health but they are not law any longer. Only Judaism and Islam still maintain strict dietary guidelines.
Eat as much pork as you like, just make sure its well cooked.

From NEW Testament:
And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. And there came a voice to him: "Rise, Peter; kill and eat." But Peter said, "By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean." And the voice came to him again a second time, "What God has made clean, do not call common." (Acts 10:10-15)

Pork is very bad for humans. Eat sparingly.
Report as
Its only bad if not cooked well or isnt trimmed of fat. Otherwise a good pirk chop or pork roast is no worse than beef or chicken.
Report as
Thanks, auxarcs. Sound Biblical answer. Some are still under law. BBQ pork is a favorite.

Reminds me of "You say, 'I am allowed to do anything'--but not everything is good for you. And even though 'I am allowed to do anything,' I must not become a slave to anything." 1 Corinthians 6:12

Right it does! That's a good one to remember, just because we can doesn't mean we have to.

All of the ordinances in regard to clean and unclean meats, holy water, holy days, new moons, and sabbath days were blotted out when Jesus died on the cross. He took all of our uncleanness, our sins, upon Himself when He died on the cross. These laws were not just cancelled, but were all fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:17,18 says, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I AM NOT COME TO DESTROY, BUT TO FULFILL. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, TILL ALL BE
FULFILLED."

Pork is forbidden by Torah to Jews. If you are a Jewish Christian, you have a dilemma. Otherwise, you are free to enjoy whatever you wish. Your parents ancestors did not bind you to the Torah in perpetuity. And early gentile Christians did eat pork.

Pork is forbidden to Jews and the Seventh Day Adventists and some other minor religions. The Bible says you may eat whatever you want (New Testament) as long as you give thanks to God for it.
