How to get rid of something that bothers you a lot ?

Well, how do i do that ? there's something really awful that bothers me so so MUCH and i always think about it the whole day ! Everyday non stop and it can't get outta my mind it's killing me . It had been this way for 6 or 7 months now . every time i star to think about it i get depressed and feel so sad and unhappy with myself . Please do you know a way how to star ignore it if you have trouble with ignoring it ?? I want so BADLY to ignore it and get over it but i truly just CAN'T . So Any suggestions ??

You're so vague that's it's difficult to advise. Are you saddened by a death? Do you feel guilty about this? Did you cause someone a problem? Did you break the law?
Whatever it is, if you can at least start to "come clean" with us at "Ask". I would think that would be a start. Impression: you seem wracked with guilt that's why "this" has become so intrusive.

it's not about death and i didn't hurt anyone, the only person i hurted is myself . and truth is it's unappropriated to talk about it here on Ask so i let it enigmatic .

Okay. So you're riddled with guilt and remorse. You cannot unscramble scrambled eggs, so the best way to move on is to take long walks and talk it over with yourself in your head. Write a letter of your feelings and thoughts and keep it well hidden. These measures help you work it through. Say a prayer. Studies show there is great power in prayer-ask for forgiveness or guidance.
All things get easier with the passage of time. We've all been there to some degree or another. Good luck and make sure you learn a lesson.

thank you for all of these advices they are useful and i will do that maybe i will fell better and foorget about it at least i can relax my mind from all of these annoying feelings .

Well for heaven's sake, what is IT!? You're asking for suggestions on how to get rid of IT, but you haven't told us what IT is. Honestly, how do you expect us to help you, if you don't give us all....or at least some of....the information?

Okay, you said that it's not illegal and its not a death in your family. Did you do something that you regret? To yourself or somebody else? In my opinion its not inappropriate to talk about it here, because we don't know you, your friends, or your family.

If I gave you my email address, would that help? Granted you would have to write down my email address quickly, because moderators will flag my account, and then erase it. But would it help if I gave it to you, would you be willing to talk that way?

To me you seem like you're genuinely hurting inside. You're young (Not sure how old you actually are.) and you holding that kind of turmoil inside is not healthy. If I can help, I will. And I'm not asking you to give me your email address, I will give you mine and then you email me. I hope you can figure out how to get one working so we can talk, and I can hopefully help you get past whatever this is.

Yeah your right about what you've said and i'm 16 years old (in16 August will make it) sometimes i cry for just remembering bad things that happend to me in the past . sometimes i wish i could forget my bad memories and try to make new ones ! Anyway thank you very very much :-)

Hi Zoe. Sorry I didn't see this a week ago, when you left the message. Finding ways to distract yourself is a great idea. Have you ever thought about starting a journal or diary? You can write things down, and you can put as much "dark matter" or humor or anything that you need to cope in your book, and nobody else will ever see it. I have found that sometimes when I write things down exactly how I'm feeling, or thinking, that getting them out of my head and onto paper, and being able to look at it in a different way, can help me gain perspective. Just an idea. So, how are you doing hun?

Hey there :) i'm doing great this day what about you ? Well your idea is really good and yeah i though of it many times but i never tried it before, it sounds to me like a good try it's a star ! And i've readed in many articuls that writing your feelings helps you a lot to take off and feel better . I'm gonna try it and see it will give any result i'm ready to do ANYTHING that help me feel better and forget the things that bothers me and makes me feel sad or upset .

Good, I'm glad you're going to give it a try. But even if it doesn't seem to work the first or second time, don't give up right away. Keep going back at it, as you get more comfortable in putting your words on paper, it might get easier for you to actually open up. If you are concerned about somebody seeing what you write, you could write it on a single sheet of paper, and then once you're done, tear it up or carefully, very carefully, take it outside and burn it. There is something oddly therapeutic about burning paper that you've written horrible, sad, or depressing thoughts and feelings on. And sweetie, I'm doing pretty good, thank you very much for asking. You know, you made me feel a lot better and your advices are really helpful thank you ! i feel really comfy and everyday i get better and better . And the journal idea is a great one i didn't though of it before but i'll try. i really wish to get over things very fast but i'm not that sort of person that can "forget" things fast but i'm giving my best to not think of it . And burning the horrible feelings is a clever way to get rid of it :) thanks again rettasangel77 and it's really sweet of you for listening to me and trying your best fto help me i appreciate very much and hope there will be a day that i help you with something as a "huge thanks" for all of this .

You're very welcome. I'm glad that you're starting to feel better, just keep moving forward. I am also the type of person that can't just get over things quickly. I usually have to think of everything that should have happened that didn't, and everything that happened but shouldn't have. And I also have to accept what happened, good or bad. And then that's when I can usually put it behind me permanently. As you deal with things, you'll be able to think of everything, put it in perspective, and then get rid of it. It'll take time, but you'll get there. As far as helping me, don't worry about that. I had people help me in my past, as I'm trying to help you, and you can help somebody in the future. It's a "pay it forward" type of gift that keeps giving.

Your right abut that sometimes we need to accept things even if they are bad and hey i've heard that hypnossiz helps alot well in diffirent things not only forgetting but relaxing feeling comfortable, high, not stressed ect.. I've watched a lot of videos in youtube about that and took some free sessions online . There are profssionals there helping you but i've had troubles with focusing and uderstanding . i felt like there is something distracting me but i don't know what exactly . so i wondered if you know something about that or had experienses .

Hmmmm, hypnosis. When you're sitting down or laying down, and you're trying to do what the "host" is saying, you have to be able to completely clear your mind. And trust me, that is so much easier said than done.

I have a suggestion...instead of hypnosis, maybe you could try some relaxation techniques. One that I find helps me relieve some stress from my body, I mean the physical stress I feel....is when I either recline in a chair, or lay down on my bed. It can be either completely silent in the room, or you could play some soft music. However, until you are very good at this, I suggest you do it in a completely quiet room. Okay, I start with my toes and I crunch and tighten them for a count of 10, and then relax them. While you're doing this, you're making sure that the only muscles you tighten, are the ones that you are concentrating on. The rest of your body needs to be completely relaxed.....

And then you're going to work on your calf muscles. You're going to tighten them for a count of 10, and then relax them. And then you do your thigh muscles, then your "butt" muscles, then your stomach muscles, then your back muscles, and then your shoulders. Next you're going to work on your arms. You're going to tighten your biceps, and then you're going to make fists and hold them to the account of 30. The reason for holding your fists for a count of 30, is I have found that when you make a fist, you are also tightening the muscles between your wrist and your elbow. Holding them longer makes them "work" harder and it releases more stress. You can even close your eyes as tight as you can, and hold it for the count of 10.

Now, I'm not saying that hypnosis is a bad idea, but I think you should work on learning how to de stress yourself, before you attempt hypnosis. I think you'll have more success with hypnosis when you can release the stress in your body, which will help quiet your mind. :)

Oh that's a awsome idea, and yeah i feel stressed out everyday, and want to relax and clear my mind . I need to focus on the steps you've told me to do and try doing it . And as i said i find it a little bit difficult to hypnotise myself because at everytime i try to focus with the speaker and do what he's saying i fail or do the first half right and the rest wrong . i'm going to try this and after few day i'm going to try the hypnosis again see if will work out for me after all . If not well, i'll keep doing this way to at least relax c:

Excellent idea Zoe. Like I said, you need to learn how to calm your mind, before you'll be able to calm the rest of your body. I like the fact that you're so open to trying things, and you're not willing to fail. That is going to take you very far in life young lady, don't ever lose that quality. And I'm very curious to know how the hypnosis goes, once you've practiced calming your mind. How are you doing with doing with your bad memories? I was just curious if you been able to get it all out in the open....at least on paper, and then analyzing it, putting it in perspective, and then getting rid of it. Just curious how far you've gotten with that. (And just so you know sweetheart, its okay to have not gotten very far, as long as you keep that quality about never wanting to fail.)

Well, things are going very good thanks for asking :) i wrote them in a paper and burned them now i'm rying not top think of them anymore and even if i did i will at least try not to remember them and think about something else . i'm practising on the way you've told me and hope it will work than i'm going to try again hypnoisis . Oh sweetheart, please don't leave forever. I think about you everyday and wonder how much progress you've made. And it sounds like you have made leaps and bounds in changing the way you think of things. And I couldn't be more proud of you. And you should be SO proud of yourself!

I'm really hoping that when you said your not going to live forever, what you actually meant was you weren't going to go forever. (like you indicated with the '*') I seen that you unfollowed me, and I immediately came here. Maybe you just need to tell someone what's on your mind that you know, maybe that's why it's weighing on you so much is that your the only one trying to figure this out

What is bothering you we need more details to be able to fully help

but try to think of pleasant things or talk to someone about what is botheirng you so you can get it off your chest
