How does a steamroller make curves?

Me and my dad were driving by some roadwork and a I noticed a steamroller. But it looked like its rollers were locked in one direction so they couldn't turn. So how does a steamroller turn? Thanks!

There are 2 options. It takes little baby turns, or the better idea is: It pivots. This would leave the back to flip (not over) behind the front. I really had never thought about it until you drew it to my attention. :)

The front roller turns about 25 degrees. If it turned sharper it would leave ruts in the asphalt. Comes out to about 1/4 of the roller with max.
