Last Sunday I cut my leg pretty bad. (2 1/2" wide and about 3/5" deep) its healed but I can't bend my ankle upwards? It's been 9 days now.

when I try to bend it upwards, my calf area feels extremely tight and feels like it'd rip if I forced it

It could be the wound is still in the process of healing. The collagen probably is starting to grow within the wound. This growth encourages the edges of the wound to contract together and close. Therefore, when you try to bend your leg, you may feel like it would rip off due to the contraction of the wound.

The pain I have when try to bend my ankle upwards isn't at the wound area though. It's more behind my leg. Feels more like the long tendon that goes from my ankle more than the actual calve muscle

What is the doctor's opinion? Go with that then.
