my dog has a lump on his head its was leaky at first and hard. it looks like a rash with big yellowish scab the hair fell out with chunks...

of skin on the end of the hair. what is this and how do I treat without a vet??

It sounds like an infected bite. I would put clean it with hydrogen peroxide and then put Neosporin on it 2-3 times a day. If it is not looking a bit better in a couple of days, you will need to go to the vet.

Oh my god... Please take your doggy to the vet...I'm not a vet or anything...but I don't think it's possible to do anything yourself without hurting your doggy.

I beg to differ. there are many home treatments for animals. I have cured his yeast infection by using organic home stuff. bug thanks for the input.

How long has it been there? It could be an infected or poisonous bite, or it could be a cyst or an abscess. If it's an abscess you REALLY need to go to a vet because eventually that thing is going to open up and you're going to get pus and blood all over your walls and floor. A vet would drain it and give some antibiotics - my vet didn't even charge me when I took my dog to get his hematoma drained.

Take him to the vet. If infected he may need antibiotics.
