You are an adult (married w/2 kids) so this is not quite the same as a teen wanting a tattoo (like "YOLO" or "1D").
First - figure out what message you want to convey. Is it personal or do you want to make a statement?
Second - Search online for quotes regarding the subject. BrainyQuote.com is an awesome site for quotes.
Third - AFTER you gave found EXACTLY what you want, ponder the thought of it for at least 6 months to a year. If after that time you are still avidly wanting that particular tattoo, then research what font you want the tattoo to be made of and get it. If you are NOT, then do not get it.
AND REMEMBER: Often what we find inspiring in our teens and 20s is childish and silly in our 30s and 40s.
Why not try a Latin tattoo: Semper invicta (always invincible) or if you lack confidence you could try Semper in excretia (always in the cack). And if you can't decide between them you could have one on each foot.
Have your guy first a tattoo like this: just below the navel, have him a tattoo of a red circle about the size of a dime; once done, just a little above the red circle, it should have this word in semi-bold black color in capitals, GOAL!. Enjoy you both!
