Technically, according to the law, it is vandalism. The greatest artists of all time could have painted in an illegal spot and it would still be vandalism. However, no matter what it says, I believe it is art. Even if it has a cuss word or is bashing the government. Art is expression. There are plenty of paintings with hidden messages against the government. For that reason, graffiti is art. (in my opinion)
I think it's art, no matter where you put it. xD loads of haters, but hey. If you ask me the stuff the paint is awesome! Only if its not something... Ugh.... But, I used to stay at this real rezed out reserve... It was a fly-in... Graffiti, boarded up houses... Real dirty lawns and stuff. Ironically I thought it was cool. Which is why I like graffiti. cx I ramble too much....
It depends on the graffiti. If it's a bunch of hurtful slurs and insults then no. its just a huge written hurtful mockery. If its a beautiful image or scenery used to brighten up the slums of the urban hell hole, then yes it is art.
Depends, It could be both while it can be one or the other. Vandalism is illegal. So If you put your art up illegally then you are technically breaking the law but that graffiti can be classified as art (to some people).Personally, some graffiti is actually pretty good. If it's just cuss words, what ever that's not art, that's just words and paint. That's my opinion on it. Even if it's illegal or not, if it's art, it's art. Got to give them credit.
That all depends on what the message is. if its the crap gangs do, or a meaning less message, then its not art. But there is good/great graffiti that is art. Dont do it on someones prized/valued things.
