I got my husband one for our first wedding 4 yrs ago. Make sure the heat is right, in the night (during the colder months) make sure he has a night heat lamp. We feed him in the am greens, carrots, cantaloupe. .. we mix it because he gets bored. crickets at night. either swim him or spray him regularly (ours does not like to swim). We also take him out & let him run in our living room while watching of course.... on warm days he loves to bask in the sun at our front door
Some tips to keep your bearded dragon healthy include, feeding him fresh greens, Zophobas worms, silkworms and butterworms, providing drinking water and keeping the environment clean. You also need to handle them with care and provide proper lighting. Find out more from http://chencenter.wordpress.com/caring-for-your-baby-bearded-dragon/.

Drop in soft brown crickets when feeding. 3 at a time to count how many he can eat at a meal. Too many, and your lizard will be annoyed, because the survivors will pester it. Provide some fresh greens daily. Clean lukewarm bath water 2 x a day
