Can my company legally make me work 10 hours a day if i have had a hip replacement surgery?

my surgeon said 4 but my company will only honor that for the next month

If your company is covered by the Family Medical Leave Act, and you qualify for "intermittent leave", then they cannot legally make you work 10 hours, if your doctor has stated that you need to work less. However you only have up to 12 weeks per year, so if you've already used them, not sure what your other options are. Your best bet would be to call your local Department of Labor for more information.
