Do you guys think this is right or am I being dramatic like my best friend says I am?

My best friend spent the night yesterday and we were doing karaoke. Well we didn't have a set so we plugged up my speakers and got music from there. She went first and sung Rolling in the Deep by Adele. When she was done she asked my opinion and if she needed to work on something, I told we she was a little pitchy on the high note and she got mad at me. Then it was my turn and I sung Therapy by All Time Low. She told me it sucked. Literally her exact words were "That sucked! I thought you were better then that!" and I tried my hardest! Well I was upset because my dream that she keeps putting down is I want to be a singer, I want to sing my heart out, but according to her I sucked. I told her that it hurt my feelings that she said it sucked and she said I was being dramatic. I didn't think I was, was I? I want your opinion please. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure the only reason she said you "sucked" is because you told her your opinion on her singing, and she didn't like it. Most likely what she said was out of anger and trying to make you feel bad, like you made her feel. I don't think you're being dramatic at all. Considering she's the one who wanted a honest opinion on her singing. Don't let her get to you! Keep practicing and never give up on your dream! I'm sure you weren't as bad as she says you were! :)

You're not being dramatic, she was just mad, and maybe a little jealous because you probably sounded better than she did.

No you weren't being dramatic. I think she was being kind of jealous in a way. Because you told her she was a bit pitchy, that she said that you sucked just to get back at you. Though you meant no harm, she took it the wrong way. And she wanted to her your feelings back probably. Honestly, if you think you did your absolute best and you want to sing, you're going to get criticism all your life, all you have to do is push past it, and if you think you sound beautiful that's all that matters. Just don't do karaoke with her anymore. Practice by yourself. Or sing in front of your parents, they are your biggest supporters, and ask them for there honest thoughts, because they wouldn't hurt you like your so called 'friends' will.

Your're both being silly. Make up and stay friends. In a few days you'll be saying , remember that silly fight we had about singing. Let's face it we both suck!

You were being truthful about her singing, and she obviously didn't like the truth so she wanted you to feel that. It wasn't necessary for her to say you sucked, that's probably not the truth. Honestly, I think you should both just say sorry and ignore this. Even best friends get in a few fights at times, but you guys are friends and shouldn't let a little argument split you 2 up. Good luck, hope you guys make up(:

She was mad because of what you told her. I'll tell you something It's better her disliking you for your honest opinion than you disliking yourself for lying to her to make her happy, because the truth hurts, but no more than you silencing yourself to make others happy. Always be truthful to others and to yourself. Haters don't matter.

Well my opinion is that your right because she does not have a reason to get mad and say that it sucks because since she knows that u want to be a singer and start singing with a good voice then your friend feels jealous then get madv and then saays that it sucks.Well now i start to understandv about the problem which is that sometimes friends get mad at each other just because of a little thing.well me and my bff argues about a problem then we have a solutionAnd itws all because were best friends forever and her name is laniya

Two mistakes you did. One you criticized her, second you asked for her opinion. In the spirit of fun, a critical comment almost always kill the mood! Play first have fun, the next day you tell her she sucked.

She asked for my opinion and u gave it because she told me to be honest and I didn't ask for her opinion,I was going to but she just spit it out.

And I didn't tell her she sucked because she didn't she was awesome but she was only pitchy on the high note. She told me I sucked.

Irrelevant on who sucked, the main reasoning is to have fun, and not fracture the friendship. By saying that she was "pitchy" the next day indicates that you were actually lessening. It's called constructive criticism. This would imply that you care for her and her ambitions and aspiration of an accomplished singer.

Your fine, she is just jealous of you beautiful voice lol but since you were being honest she thought that you were being rude but you were not so she had to say something after you were done singing too just to be even.
